8 Months

My baby is 8 months old! It's crazy how fast time goes. He is so much fun though, he is starting to get a little personality and I just love him!!

At 8 months Jacob...

-is crawling (mostly he army crawls, but he has taken a few crawls on his hands and knees)

-is sleeping through the night

-with the exception of a few times this week is an excellent napper and goes to bed without a fuss

-eats anything we put in front of him (mostly still eating baby food, but has tried avocado and beans)

-has 2 bottom teeth

-has the cutest laugh every!

-still loves the bath

-likes to grab onto my hands and stand up

-tries to climb on top of his toys

-plays hide and seek with mommy

-loves his bottle

-is super wiggly, especially when getting his diaper changed

-is a very good baby, so content

"Before I Was A Mom"
Before I was a Mom I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom I slept as late as I wanted.
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was Mom I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, peed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts, my body and all my feelings.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was OK.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much......

Under Construction

I am trying to make my blog cute and fun with new fonts and designs. Currently it is under construction. This may take some time...

Am I CrAzY?

I want to run a half marathon! That's right, I said it, a HALF MARATHON!! I can hardly believe it myself. This is actually something I have been talking about for a couple years, but now I really want to try. I was thinking I would start with the Salt Lake Half Marathon in April. That should give me enough time to train....I hope! Now, keep in mind I have not worked out for a very very long time and I have never been a runner so I have to start slow.

I am starting with a 5K. I am doing the program Couch to 5K...silly, I know. It has been good though, I am already on week 3. It just starts slow and gives different work outs for each week. Hopefully I can stick with it and then go from there. I guess you have to start somewhere...

So, am I crazy? Is anybody going to do this with me? I need all the motivation and support I can get!!

7 Months

At 7 Months Jacob...

-Army crawls

-Sits up without support

-Loves his fruits, veggies, cereal and bottles

-Sleeps through the night

-Has the cutest smile and laugh ever!

-Loves the bath and swimming pool

-Loves his blankie

-Babbles and squeals

-Likes to jump in his jumper

-Goes on runs/walks with mommy

-Likes to hang out with grandma, grandpa and great grandma

-Is the best baby ever!

6 Months

Can you believe it? My baby is 6 months old!! Time sure does fly by. I am so happy, he is the cutest little guy EVER! I love him to death!! Jacob is accomplishing so many new things everday, I am so proud of him.

At 6 months Jacob:

-weighs 16lbs 5oz (25th percentile)

-height: 25 inches (14th percentile)

-head circumference: 42cm (17th percentile)

-rolls all over the place

-eats solids (fruits, veggies, cereal, oatmeal)

-can almost sit without assistance

-holds his own bottle

-can drink from a sippy cup

-tries really hard to crawl

-wears 3-6 months clothes

-wears size 2 diapers

-sleeps through the night more often than not

-likes to go to Utah games with mom and dad

-absolutely loves to blow bubbles. I guess it's his way of comminucating

-likes to watch Baby Einstein

-loves his blankie

-loves his jumper

-puts everything in his mouth

-babbles

We love you Jacob!

I PASSED!! 265 questions (the max) and 5 hours later I am now a Registered Nurse. I couldn't be happier. There were definitely some ups and downs over the past year in trying to pass this test. I must say, all those ups and dows were worth it and I PASSED!! I thank everyone for all of your support. I especially thank my parents for their love and support and mostly Miguel and Jacob for your patience, love and support and for putting up with me these last few weeks. I love you all and thank you!! Now, time to find a job. :)

Swimming

We took Jacob swimming a few times this summer. He loves the water and just being outside. I even signed him up for swimming lessons starting this week!

5 Months

At 5 months Jacob:

-Still wears some 0-3 month clothes, but mostly 3-6 months.

-Is still wearing size 1-2 diapers.

-Eats rice cereal, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes and oatmeal.

-Loves his bottles. He eats anywere from 4-6oz every 3-5 hours. Whatever we give him he'll eat.

-Loves the bath and loves to go swimming. We are going to start swimming lessons in about a month.

-Spent his first night at grandma's and grandpa's. Mommy and Daddy missed you!

-Smiles a lot! He is so flirty and cute with his smiles.

-Laughs occasionally. He is starting to laugh more and more.

-Rolls over both directions.

-Tries to crawl, but not there quite yet.

-Likes to watch Baby Einstein, or pretty much anything on TV. (I promise we aren't bad parents that let him watch TV all the time).

-Sometimes sleeps through the night. If he wakes up, it's only once around 4 or 5am.

-Loves his blankie.

-Grabs onto things.

-Still likes to cuddle with mommy and daddy.

-Is our little angel. We love you baby!

Blog updates coming soon. Jacob is now 6 months and I haven't even done a 5 month post. Lets just say the past couple months have been pretty busy. I will try to get something up by the end of the weekend. :)
