Happy Birthday to ME!!

A few days ago (August 16) I celebrated my birthday. Believe it or not, I turned 29!!! I don't feel 29 and people tell me I don't look it either so I guess that's a good thing. I have always loved celebrating my birthday and I let everybody around me know it. Ask my family or Miguel if you don't believe me, I have been talking about it for weeks!! This year was a lot of fun, I spent the whole weekend with Miguel which if you know us at all you know that we rarely have weekends to spend together.
It all started at midnight when I was in bed reading some intellectually stimulating nursing books when Miguel came in and said, "Happy Birthday" and gave me a nicely wrapped present in a lovely pink Victoria Secret bag. I opened it and inside were too very nice bras!!! I didn't even ask for this. You must know that when I ask Miguel to go into VS with me he hates it and would prefer waiting outside. He told me he got my size and when into the store, by himself and asked a girl to help him. (Sounds like something my dad would do when shopping for my mom) Of course the sales girl picks out the most expensive bra (or I assume that was the case) and Miguel takes two!! Needless to say, I am not at all disappointed, they fit great and are wonderful!!! I usually buy the cheaper bras from other stores (to remain nameless) but now I may never go back. Thanks Miguel!!
After a lot of debating back and forth on what to do on my birthday we decided to go shopping and out to dinner. There is not much I would rather do than go shopping and the only day I can get Miguel to go with me and pretend like he is having fun is on my birthday. I really do think he had a good time though.

Our first stop was IKEA. I love that place!! We ended up buying a shelving unit to put in our laundry room. Miguel actually picked it out. We also ended up leaving with a few other smalls things such as a plant and some kitchen utensils. It's a rule, you can't leave IKEA empty handed.

Our second stop was Cafe Rio for lunch. It was a toss up between Cafe Rio and Zuppas and Cafe Rio won. This is a horrible picture because Miguel doesn't count to three before taking the picture. I wasn't at all ready!

Our next stop was the mall. I ended up getting some necessities such as shampoo and conditioner, but I also went shopping at Down East and got a cute skirt and top. Of course Miguel didn't participate in this shopping extravaganza and waited for me outside of the store. He did note while he was waiting and people watching that someday when we have kids if he has a girl he will never go shopping with her. He said he noticed that all girls, young or old are very easily distracted in the mall and want to see everything that looks interesting and they want it all too. All I could do was laugh. He does have a good point.
Our next stop was Sam's Club. I didn't get a picture of this because it wasn't all that exciting. We decided to go for just the necessities. After that we went home and dropped off our food and then we were on to our next adventure. We went to Fashion Place mall. One mall wasn't good enough so we had to go to another. Miguel wanted to buy me another present, how could I resist? After a little shopping around we went to Foot Locker and I have been wanting some of the Nike Shox shoes and Miguel said he would buy me some. Wow, what a nice guy!!! I got these special running shoes to assist with my marathon training. I know they are going to make running so much easier!! Haha!! Now I really have to do it and I have these cute shoes to motivate me. :)

Oh yes, Miguel loves Ross so after the mall we had to include a trip to Ross. Here is a picture of Miguel trying on some clothes...

We then went home and took a break before going to dinner. We went to dinner at Tepanyaki. It is the place where they cook the food in front of you. I love it! Here is a not so great picture of us waiting for our table. We were so full after dinner we could barely move. We also had tonz of leftovers.

After dinner we came across this interesting vehicle at Jordan Landing. They called it a Monstor Bus. They were giving rides for $5 and the money went to the Children's Miracle Network. It looked like a crazy ride!! We didn't ride it though.

We then came home and watched The Notebook. What a great movie!!

My birthday continued on Sunday when we went to dinner with my family at Five Guys Burger and Fries. After that we went to my parents house and had ice cream cake. I have been wanting and ice cream cake for quite some time now, thanks mom!!! I also got a really cute green purse which I have also been wanting for quite a while. My mom picked it out and I love it! Thanks mom!!

This picture doesn't really do it justice, you have to come see it in person.

Thanks to my family and Miguel for making my birthday weeked so much fun!!

We're going to do it!!!

A couple girls at work (Kindra and Amber) and myself are going to run the half marathon in April (or at least that is our plan). We figure if we start now by the time April comes around we should be ready. We haven't come up with a training program yet so if you have any ideas let us know. I am very excited!! Anybody that wants to join in please do, the more motivation the better!!
