I needed to get it all out

If you don't want to hear me vent/complain then please stop reading now.

I am frustrated.  I didn't know it would be so hard to find a nursing job. I honestly thought that I would find a job within a couple months and start making more money and I would be 'comfortable' paying the bills, mostly my student loans. I guess I thought wrong. Here I am a year and a half out of nursing school and NOTHING!!  Sure, it took me a while to actually pass the NCLEX, but still, even then it has been about 6 months.  You have to have experience to get a job, but answer me this, how do you get experience if nobody will give you experience????  Now I feel like I am to the point where I don't remember ANYTHING from school anyway.  Don't get me wrong, I am thankful that I have a job at all, but I really need to start making more money and would like to find a job where I can move up the ladder.  Right now, I feel like I am stuck in a rutt.  It also comes down to the fact that I need more money.  I was counting on a nursing job that would pay me much more an hour.  Now, I am stuch with all these stupid student loans and just barely making it from paycheck to paycheck.  So, if anybody knows of a nursing job or some type of research job please let me know!!

On another note. I wish I could be home more with Jacob.  I know this will probably never happen, at least not in the near future, but I can always wish...can't I?  Don't get me wrong, I am thankful that Miguel and I have this great situation where he can stay with Jacob during the day and I can stay with him on the nights and weekends. Jacob is a lucky kid to be able to spend all this time with his mommy and daddy.  Sometimes I just wish I could just stay home and do fun things, like cook more, become crafty and do fun things with Jacob during the day.  I guess I need to manage my time better and try and do these things on the nights and weekends...right?  Or, I need to find that nursing job I mentioned earlier and work three 12 hour shifts which would give me more time at home.  Hmmm....

I am sorry for the venting, I just needed to get it out.  Overall, I feel pretty lucky. I have a wonderful husband and the cutest baby EVER!! I couldn't ask for anything more.  We have some difficult times ahead, but the three of us have each other and we can get through anything!!! I love you Jacob and Miguel. Thank you for supporting me in everything.

I'm sorry that it's been so frustrating. Have you put a shoutout on FB yet? Maybe try contacting some of the nurse managers and let them know that you are interested, but don't have any experience. My old nurse manager told me that she hires from referals, people coming in and talking to her and asking about it, and those that call about the job. I hope you find something soon.

I'm sorry Jen! I wish that I could find a better job or a stay at home job. It's hard to be away from our little guys! Something will come up, just keep looking and stay positive!
