Swimming

We took Jacob swimming a few times this summer. He loves the water and just being outside. I even signed him up for swimming lessons starting this week!

5 Months

At 5 months Jacob:
-Still wears some 0-3 month clothes, but mostly 3-6 months.
-Is still wearing size 1-2 diapers.
-Eats rice cereal, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes and oatmeal.
-Loves his bottles. He eats anywere from 4-6oz every 3-5 hours. Whatever we give him he'll eat.
-Loves the bath and loves to go swimming. We are going to start swimming lessons in about a month.
-Spent his first night at grandma's and grandpa's. Mommy and Daddy missed you!
-Smiles a lot! He is so flirty and cute with his smiles.
-Laughs occasionally. He is starting to laugh more and more.
-Rolls over both directions.
-Tries to crawl, but not there quite yet.
-Likes to watch Baby Einstein, or pretty much anything on TV. (I promise we aren't bad parents that let him watch TV all the time).
-Sometimes sleeps through the night. If he wakes up, it's only once around 4 or 5am.
-Loves his blankie.
-Grabs onto things.
-Still likes to cuddle with mommy and daddy.
-Is our little angel. We love you baby!

Rice Cereal and Green Beans

A few weeks ago we started Jacob on rice cereal. He hates it! He makes faces, spits it out and cries. The pictures show it all....

Seriously Mom...

I must admit...I did try a tiny taste of the cereal and it is pretty gross.

I did manage to get a smile out of him

Sometimes we have to distract him inbetween bites. He will take that bottle anytime.

A few days ago we gave him green beans. I must say he likes the green beans better than the cereal. If only he could keep his hands out of his mouth. He has now learned to spit his food and he has some pretty good distance. I am usually covered in green beans by the end of the meal.

We love you Jacob.

Jackson

I am a little late at posting this, but about a month ago Jacob and I went to Wyoming with some family. Unfortunately Miguel had to stay home and work. I am glad that Jacob and I were able to go though. We stayed at Colter Bay. It is about an hour outside of Jackson Hole.

I Wish....BUT, I'm Thankful...

I wish I could stay home with Jacob everyday. I hate leaving him home every morning and I know he hates me leaving. :) Don't get me wrong, working is great and I might go crazy without it. I think every mom needs a break, a time to talk to adults and a time to just get away. I just wish my schedule could be a little different and I could have more time with my cute baby boy. BUT, I am thankful that I do have a job and I have a healthy baby boy that I can come home to every night. There are many people out there that don't have jobs that want them or maybe they are unable to work and really need too. I am also thankful that Miguel and I can work our schedules out for the most part and Jacob only has to have a babysitter once a week..at least for now.

I wish that I had more money or money in general. It seems everything has hit all at once from medical bills, student loans and other bills. It's making me kind of crazy and stressed. Why can't I just win the lottery or something and pay it all off? Is that too much to ask? I wish I could pass my stupid test so that I could get a nursing job and make more and work different hours. That would solve all my problems. BUT, I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, food on the table and am able to provide for my family. Sure things are rough, but we have the necessities and we have each other. The nursing job will come with time, hopefully a shorter time, rather than longer, but I will be thankful I have a job for the time being.

I guess all of my wishes and thankfuls tie into eachother. I guess I should just be thankful for what I do have. I am lucky. I have a wonderful husband and cute little boy, what more could a girl ask for?

Swimming

We took Jacob to the swimming pool for the first time. It turned out to be pretty quick because it was a little breezy and the water was a little cold. We will definitely have to try it again on a warmer day. I think he's going to like it.

3 Months

On June 10 Jacob turned 3 months...hard to believe right? He is getting so big! It's hard to believe that 3 months ago he weighed only 5 lbs.

At 3 months Jacob...
-smiles
-loves bright colors
-loves the fresh air and being outside
-is starting to talk (baby sounds)
-can hold his head up pretty well
-loves his hands
-is starting to blow bubbles
-is always moving!
-still loves the bath
-usually wakes up once per night
-eats 4oz of formula every 3-4 hours
-loves his mommy and daddy...of course!

We love you too Jacob! I love everything about you. Your daddy and I are always commenting on how cute you are. I love watching you sleep at night, you always look so peaceful. Love you little angel!!
