Card Making Party

Today I went to a scrapbooking/card making party. It was a lot of fun! For $10 I got to make 5 cards and all the supplies were given to me except for the adhesive. They give you a sample card and you can make it the same or be creative. Here are 4 of the cards that I made. They have a few mistakes, but for my first time I think I did pretty well.

I am going to have my own card making party on Saturday May 30. If you are interested let me know. The cost is $10 for 5 cards. I think it will be a lot of fun and the cards will be different than these. I figure this is a good hobby, you can always use cards!!

My favorites are the baby and the bee cards.

A Day in the Park with Kobi

It was so nice the other night I went and got Kobi and took him to the park. It was fun! I don't have any kids or nieces or nephews so I figured I would take my parents dog out. :)

Tulips

I still haven't had time to figure out how to work my new camera. I am hoping to take a class or two once school is over, but for now I just have to try new things on my own.

These are just pictures of some tulips I took outside of my apartment. They aren't great, but I guess it's a start.

Personal Trainer

About a month ago Miguel bought me a personal trainer at Gold's Gym. I have been wanting one for a while now and he finally got sick of hearing me complain and bought one. What a nice husband!! Because my schedule is so crazy I am only able to meet with my trainer once a week, but he gives me some exercises to do when I am able to go to the gym on my own. I have been trying to keep up, but it has been hard. I really need to get into a routine and make time to go in between working, class, studying and sleeping. Man...I really need more hours in the day!!! I am so excited though to learn different exercises to do, hopefully this way I can get rid of some flab and gain some muscle. :)

Dear Miguel...

I know you hardly ever look at this blog, but just in case you do I want to tell you I love you so much! Thanks so much for putting up with me the last few weeks during this stressful time at school (the last year and a half for that matter). I'm sure the next 6 months aren't going to be much better, but just remember, I really appreciate it and I don't think I would have been able to do any of this without your support.

P.S. I also want to thank my family, friends, classmates and coworkers for your support too!! Thanks everyone!!! I love you all!!

Backgrounds

These blog backgrounds are making me mad. I can't find one I like. The 2 column and 3 column thing is messing me up, what's the difference anyways? Help!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Miguel and I had a great Valentines Day this year. I think it was one of the few Valentines that we've both had off of work since we've known each other. We both had the whole day off together.

On Friday when I came home from work I was surprised with some beautiful roses sitting on the counter in my bathroom. It was a nice surprise. I just got flowers a few weeks ago so I wasn't really expecting any. On Saturday we went to lunch at Morelias and then went out to Jordan Landing. We went to Kohl's and Miguel bought me some earrings. They are very pretty! They are diamond hoops, I love them!! He picked them out (for the most part) and I love it when he picks things out for me. After that we went to a movie, The International, it was pretty good! After Jordan Landing we came back home and watched tv until it was time to get ready to go to dinner. Our plan was to go to Macaroni Grill, but we didn't make reservations so we knew we would have to wait. We got there about 7:35 and they said our wait was 105 - 115 minutes so we went to the mall for a while and then we ended up getting seated by 9:00, not too bad. We had a great dinner and a great rest of the night. I enjoyed having the WHOLE day off with Miguel. If you know us, you know these days are few and far between.

I love you Miguel!!

Christmas Time

We had a great Christmas this year. I am very thankful to have Miguel as well as my family and friends in my life. I love you all! Happy 2009!
My dad took a pretty good picture!

This is the bad snow storm we had on Christmas. Miguel and I went to the movies and when we came hom we played in the snow.

I found the Wii fit!!

I finally found it. Last night after CPK I told Miguel I was going to look at the ads online and see if anyplace had it in the morning so I could wake up early and go. I had pretty much given up the past few days, this was my last hope. I looked at Walmart and they had it! I wasn't sure what to do because Walmart is open 24 hours so did the ad start at midnight or in the morning sometime? I tried to call 3 different Walmart's but no answer. It was about 12:15am by this time and I made Miguel come with me to Walmart to see. After all, this was his Christmas present to me. Miguel asked behind the counter and they had them!! They started the sale at 12:01am. I'm glad we went, I'm sure they would have been gone by morning. YAY!! Finally!! Too bad my week off is over and I'm not going to have nearly enough time to play. We played for a little bit last night and it told me I was overweight, had no balance and my Wii fit age was 35. I guess I have some work to do. :) I hope you can all come over and play sometime soon.

Happy New Year!

Day Four: Today Miguel was off the whole day so we spent the day together. We woke up and I made (store bought) caramel rolls. They were delicious! Then we went to IKEA, i love this place!! We got a new duvet cover for our bed because my parents bought us a new down comfortor for Christmas. It's brown with a flower print near the top. There was an entertainment center we wanted from IKEA but they were out. We then went to the mall, Burlington and Sports Authority (I was looking for a new coat). After our shopping extravaganza we came home and took a nap for a couple hours. Since we weren't able to celebrate much on New Years Eve I wanted to get dressed up tonight and go out. We got all dressed up and went to the Cheesecake Factory, it was delicious!! We only had to wait about 50 minutes too, not too bad.
After dinner we just came home and hung out. It was nice to hang out with Miguel all day!! Happy New Year everyone! I wish you all the best in 2009!

Comcast and New Years!

Day Three: I have been slacking and haven't been keeping up on my daily events. Let's see how much I can remember...This morning the comcast guy came to install a landline for us. Believe it or not, having a landline makes our comcast bill cheaper...go figure. No complaints from me, now we have a home phone. I don't think I won't to post it on here, but I will give you all the number so that you can call us!! After that I ran some errands, Target, to exchange some sheets which they wouldn't exchange...lame!! It's a long story! While I was there I checked AGAIN for the Wii Fit and it was still out. I also went to the scrub store to find some more ugly maroon colored scrubs for school. After that I came home and cleaned. I am trying to get everything cleaned and organized while I have the time. Miguel had to work ALL DAY so I hung out at home most the night. He came home around 10:30 and then we went to his Uncle's house for a few hours. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! (Sorry, not a very exciting day)

Teeth, Target, Chocolate Cake and more Target!

Day Two: Today consisted of waking up at the butt crack of dawn for a stupid stupid dentist appointment. I had to have two cavities filled and I had to listen to how the dentist thought I was only 19...whatever. I know you are all probably wondering what happened when I went to Target this morning BEFORE going to the dentist, right when they opened. I even had to wait in the parking lot before they opened the doors. I was so excited, I was going to walk in, casually walk to electronics and find my Wii Fit sitting on the shelf, it was going to be perfect. Guess what happened?? You guessed it....NO WII FIT FOR ME!!!! Damn Wii Fit, why are you putting me through this??? After the dentist I made a couple quick stops and then went home to go back to bed, I wasn't feeling too hot. I slept for a couple hours and then woke up, showered and headed down to CPK. I wanted to have lunch there but it was too busy so I left and ran a couple errands. I came home, watched some tv and cleaned some of my apartment (i'll save the rest for tomorrow). I then went to Chili's with a friend, it was very delicious, you can never go wrong with chips and queso and chocolate molten cake. Mmmmmm!!! After Chilis we went to Target cuz I had to exchange some sheets. I of course took a quick peek in my favorite section of the store (electronics...duh), but again, a lonely shelf. Now, I am home still wondering why I am making so much out of this stupid Wii. I decided it's because I have time this week and it is making for quite the adventure and quite the story to tell. I know you all enjoy it!! Miguel and I are going to a movie when he gets home. Until we meet again.....

My week off...

For those of you that don't know, I took this week off of work and I am also lucky enough to be out of school too so it's a much needed break for me. I do have a feeling that this week is going to fly by, especially if everyday is like today...

Day One: I woke up around 8 to take Miguel to work since I picked him up last night after his Christmas party. I then went to the gym for the first time in who knows how long. It was nice, I may have burned off one of the cookies I ate the past week. After that I came home, watched a little Good Things Utah, showered and then I was off to the dentist. This was not a pleasant experience, and it turns out I have two SMALL cavities that I am going to have filled tomorrow...what a fun way to spend the first two days of MY week. After the dentist I stopped by my mom's work to say hello and then I was off to the mall. I wanted to go to Fashion Place, but I was frustrated by the parking lot so I left and headed for South Towne. I was able to get a skirt returned and shop around a little. Miguel called me and told me that he heard someone got a Wii Fit at Target today so of course I had to rush over to Target, but again, nothing! Stupid Wii!! I wasn't finished yet, I of course had to go to another Target and then another, but still no Wii. However, I did find a nice Christmas tree, pre-lit for only $17.50, I couldn't resist. All Christmas items at Target are 75% off, what a deal!!! I look forward to this sale every year, it's great! After the 3rd Target I decided to come home and because I was in such the Christmas spirit (or had lots of energy), I took down our Christmas decorations, packed them up and lugged them back to my parents house (our storage unit). I hung out there for a while and THEN...you aren't going to believe this, went back to Target. Am I dumb or what?? I had this plan....Iwas going to go tonight right before closing. We'll, I got bored and didn't last, but still no Wii Fits. The second part of my plan is to go first thing in the morning right when they open in hopes that all the returns will be back on the shelf and somebody will have returned their Wii Fit and I will be first in line. YES!!! I know I am crazy for obsessing over this stupid thing, but oh well, it keeps me entertained. Stay tuned for day two...

Wii Fit

This is my Christmas present from Miguel, unfortunately I haven't seen it yet. Miguel, like any guy waited until the last minute and they were all sold out. He promised me he would buy it for me as soon as they came back in stock. So, today I noticed in the Target ad that they were going to be in. I didn't make it to Target right when they opened like everyone else must have so no Wii Fit for me. I went to 5 Targets, Best Buy, Circuit City and Sam's Club today looking for one lonely Wii Fit to take home, but NOTHING!! Miguel assures me that I will get one, we just have to wait. A lesson learned to all....don't wait until the last minute.

Santa, I want a house.

Dear Santa,
I want a house, a townhome will do. I want my own place that I can call home. I want a garage to pull into and a wall to paint. Don't get me wrong, the apartment is great, I have enjoyed living here and I think the apartment I live in is really nice, but I am ready for a change. Please Santa, make this wish come true. Merry Christmas!!

Thoughts...

  • I am very excited for Christmas. This weekend I have slowly been putting up my Christmas decorations and tonight Miguel is going to come home and help me put up the tree. I just wish I had a house to decorate rather than just a little apartment.
  • I saw the movie Twilight and I loved it! I haven't finished reading the book yet and that may be why I liked it so much, but I really did enjoy it and I would like to see it again.
  • The next 3 weeks are going to be hell. I have finals, finals and more finals. It's going to be rough, I am not looking forward to it at all. I need to get myself into a better studying routine so I can get through these next few weeks.
  • On a better note, after the 3 weeks of hell I have 2 weeks off from school. I am also comtemplating taking one of those weeks off from work too. I really just need a break from life!
  • I want an i-phone...why, I am not really sure, I just want one. :)
  • I am sad this long Thanksgiving weekend is quickly coming to an end. I enjoyed spending a few days with Miguel and I wish we had more days off like that to spend together.
  • Have a happy and safe holiday season everyone!!

No Desserts!!! What???

Some people at work, including myself are doing the "No Dessert Challenge." The challenge goes from November 1 - December 31. Yes, this seems like a very long time and a very hard task, especially through the holidays. I have to report that it actually hasn't been as bad as I thought and I've already survived 5 days!!! I am proud of myself for accomplishing those first 5 days and I know I can keep going. I may have to make a few exceptions as Thanksgiving and Christmas come around, but the way I look at it is that I have cut back and shown improvement. I have avoided going to the candy jar and having to have my mid-afternoon chocolate fix, this is quite the improvement. Iwill keep you updated as the challenge continues and I wish everybody else that is doing the challenge the best of luck!!

Twilight...

I am currently still reading these books since my spare reading time is few and far between, but here is my character... (the sad part is that I'm not far enough in the book yet to know who this even is) I guess I better start reading. I want to at least finish the first one so I can go see the movie!!

I'm a Alice! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

A Massage??

I have never had a massage before and I have been told over and over that it's something I really need to do. I've heard it's the best experience ever! Anybody that knows me knows that I hold all my stress in my shoulders, they are tense, painful and hard as rocks. In other words, my shoulders are very much in need of a massage.
I have had a rough week. It started on Monday, which are long days anyway. About 10am I started getting a migraine, I get blurry eyes and tingling fingers and I know the migraine is headed my direction...bad news!! I managed to keep it under control for the most part, but it lasted the whole week! I was stressed, tense, tired and in pain. I had two tests to study for and had to continue with my day to day activities with this miserable headache. By Thursday I had enough! I was having a hard time working and I just wanted to go home and sleep for 3 days!! I had been talking for a couple weeks about wanting to go and get a massage and now I was considering it more than ever. I didn't feel quite ready for the whole body massage, but I thought a neck and shoulder massage would be the perfect remedy for my tense shoulders and pounding head. My friends at work talked me into it and I left for lunch and got my much needed massage. Needless to say it was very nice and very much needed. It was so relaxing to just lay there for an hour and have my neck and shoulders massaged and I felt so much better afterwards. The headache was still faintly there, but my shoulders were much more relaxed and not painful at all. To make a long story short it's now Friday night and I feel great and I think the massage helped! If you have never had a massage I would highly recommened it. I am not sure I am ready to move on to the full body massage...maybe someday!
