First Play Date
Jacob had his first play date with his friend Campbell. She is about 3 1/2 months old. I would like to say that Jacob enjoyed meeting his new friend, but he was so overwhelmed he slept the entire time. I'm pretty sure Campbell had a good time though. :)
Newborn/1 Month Pictures
Jacob had his first photo shoot. He did a great job and the pictures turned out so cute. I absolutely love them!! For now, you can look at them HERE. Once I get the images I will post them. Thanks so much Tracy!
1 Month
I am a little late at posting this, but Jacob is now 1 month old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. He's still a little guy, but he's growing fast!
We love you little guy, even if you do keep us up all night. I still love all your cute facial expressions, your cute little hands and feet and everything about you. You are our little angel.
At 1 month Jacob...
-weighs just over 6 lbs
-wears newborn diapers
-wears newborn clothes (some are still a little big)
-eats about 2oz of milk every 3-4 hours
-smiles (even if it is just gas)
-is a little wiggle worm
-hates getting his diaper changed
-has his nights mixed up with his days
-loves bath time, for the most part
-loves his mommy and daddy :)

The time has come...
I have to go back to work in 3 weeks! I am sad that half of my leave had to be on bed rest and I wasn't able to spend the whole time with Jacob. However, I am thankful that I was able to be on bed rest and take care of baby Jacob while he was inside so that he wasn't born at 29 weeks.
I am wondering if anybody knows of a good day care or knows of anybody that would be willing to watch Jacob a few days a week. For the first month or so we are able to work it out so that he can stay home with Miguel during the day while he is still little and growing. We will eventually have to get him into a day care though. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. :)

Diaper Bags
I guess this is a funny thing to post about, but I want some advice. Which diaper bag do you like? Or, should I go with something more plain. :)

3 week appointment.
Jacob had his 3 week appointment. Usually it's a 2 week appointment, but since we were in the hospital at 2 weeks the doctor saw him at 3 weeks, a few days after we came home.
Weight: 5lbs 14 ounces - 1 percentile
Height: 18.4 inches - 0 percentile
Head Circumference: 13.0 inches - 0 percentile
The doctor says he is doing great and gaining weight as he should, about an ounce a day at this point. He is still a tiny little guy though.
Keep up the good work Jacob!!
Jacob comes home!
On Tuesday, March 30 Jacob came home. We are so happy to finally have him home. We love little Jacob so much. Welcome Home Jacob!
In his car seat ready to go. We had to go home with the car bed because he is still too small for his regular car seat and didn't pass the car seat test. :(
Home!
All ready for bed, ready to sleep in his crib for the first time. Clearly he is excited.

Almost time to come home
Jacob, it's almost time for you to come home! Over the past week you have graduated from the isolette and moved into an open crib, you are gaining weight (as of today you are at 5lbs 9oz) and just this past weekend you have started eating more by breast feeding and bottle feeding and the nurse pulled your tube tonight. We are so proud of you for accomplishing so many things and growing and staying strong so that you can come home. We can't wait! We love you baby!
I love that you will be home with us really soon.

Some of my favorite things this week...
I love that you have found your hands. I love how you grab on to things, the blanket, your binkie, my hands and I even found you trying to pull that tube out a few times.
I love that you are awake more and more each day.
I love that you now recognize my voice and know who your mommy and daddy are.
I love how cute you are.
I love that you will be home with us really soon.

We miss you little boy...
Jacob,
You are 10 days old now. You are still in the hospital and daddy and I miss you so much, but we know it is best for you to stay there so that you are 100% before you come home. Please know that we love you so much and think about you constantly. Stay strong little baby!
Some of my favorite things about you...
I love how you always want your hands by your face, it's so cute!

I love your facial expressions, I could sit and watch you all day.
I love the smiles (even if they aren't really smiles and just gas).
I love everything about you Jacob, you are our little angel.

Thoughts for tonight...
I can't believe I have made it to 34 weeks (tomorrow). According to what all the doctors told me I would have had the baby by now, or at least that is what it seemed like from the symptoms I was having. I went to the doctor today and he said in 2 more weeks I can stop the contraction medication and get back to a little more activity than just laying around all day. I'm sure it won't be much, but anything is probably better than what I'm at now. Wow! Two weeks sounds like a long time though.
I'm a little nervous as to how things will work out in the next few months because I have already been on leave from work for about a month which means I have about 2 months left. My baby isn't even born yet!! I was hoping to take this time to spend time with him, but I guess things don't always work out as planned. I don't know what will happen when I have to go back to work because I really do HAVE to go back. I know our baby will have to go to daycare, but I don't want him to go that early and I'm sure many places don't take babies so young. I know things will work out, they always do, but this has been a thought in the back of my head the past few days.
I am so excited to meet our baby!! Just this week Miguel go the crib put together and we bought a stroller and car seat. We have the bedding, but it's not all put together yet so I will post pictures as soon as we get everything ready. As much as I want to meet him now and be done being pregnant (because now I feel like I'm going to be waiting forever) I know he needs to cook a little longer.
Those are my thoughts for tonight, thanks for listening. :) If anybody has any great advice on places for daycare please let me know!

I miss you Grandpa...
My grandpa passed away on February 16, 2010 and I haven't gone a day without thinking of him. I miss him. Grandpa, I thank you for everything, your love and support. I know you are watching over me, Miguel and the baby making sure everything is going to be ok.
I will always love you and miss you!!
Almost 33 weeks!!
Today is 32.6 weeks and we're still hanging on or should I say "hanging in." I can't believe all this fun and excitement started about a month ago and I am still pregnant. My doctor is a little suprised too!! Baby Molina is staying strong and as much as he wants to meet us and all of you he is staying put. Of course there is no exact date as to when I will deliver, we are just taking it day by day and hoping to hang on as long as we can.
I am doing well. I am still on bedrest and maybe going a little bit crazy, but trying to keep myself entertained. I am getting a little sick of depending on others for everything and not being able to do much of anything, but I know it's for the better and it will all be worth it in the end.
I'll keep you all updated as the days go by. Thank you so much for all of your love and support. I appreciate the phone calls, e-mails, messages and visits.

What's Going On?
Most of you already know, but maybe some are wondering what has been going on the past couple of weeks. Without going into too much detail here are the basics...
It all began on Thursday, January 28. I was in and out of the hospital the whole weekend for preterm labor. I was then admitted Monday, February 1 for further observation due to some bleeding. Late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning the bleeding had increased so I was transferred to a different hospital with a better NICU in case baby Molina decided to make an appearance at only 29 weeks. I have been in the hospital ever since for close observation. (They are thinking placenta abruption) I was released to come home on Tuesday, February 16 still on bedrest and not able to do much of anything. I am now 31.5 weeks and baby Molina is still cooking. :) We hope he hangs on for at least another 3 weeks.
I am doing fine, hanging in there. I thank all of my friends and family for your support during all of this. You have all been great, sending messages, calling and even coming to visit. Miguel has been amazing! It has been stressful for both of us, but we are staying strong and trying to do what is best for me and the baby. We know it will all be worth it in the end.

Advice...
I need some advice on car seats/strollers, etc. We have seen a couple car seats we like that have gotten great reviews. There is one that holds up to 22 lbs and one that holds up to 30 lbs. They both come with the stroller combo. Does anybody have any recommendations on whether to get the 22 lb or 30 lb and if it's beneficial to get the stroller combo??? Too many choices, this is overwhelming. :)
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Lately...
To be honest since school has been out I haven't been up to much of anything. Being pregnant makes me super super tired, I hardly know what to do with myself. I come home from work and crash on the couch and then I'm usually in bed by ten! Luckily, I haven't really been sick at all. There have been some occasions at night when I feel nautious and sick, but other than that things have gone pretty well.
Sadly I have yet to take the NCLEX. I was a little late at registering due to the cost of the stupid test and then that pushed my test day even further back. I take the test sometime in December. I am not disclosing the date. :) Trust me, you will know when it's over. I am however starting to look for a job. I really would love to have a nursing job to make some more money and of course get into the career that I just spent thousands and thousands of dollars in school for. Whenever this day comes I will be very sad to leave my friends at TOSH, but I know ultimately it will be a good move and something that has been a long time waitng. So, if you know if any job openings for new grad nurses please please let me know.
Miguel and I still have crazy schedules. He recently got promoted and is now working different, but longer hours. He loves it! We have a couple days a week that we are able to spend together and catch up, but other than that we mostly see each other in passing. I guess our opposite schedules will be good once the baby is born...right?
Well, that's all for now. We will definitely keep you updated on how things go the next few months. We have yet to decide on a name, nursery decorations, strollers, etc. I may be searching for some much needed advice in the 'what to buy' department. :)
I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving and holiday season!!!

It's a BOY!
After debating for the last several months on whether or not we were going to find out we went through with it and found out that baby Molina is a boy! We couldn't be more excited. Miguel and I can hardly wait until April to see our little guy. :)

I DID IT!!
I'm sure everybody knows by now, but for those that don't, I have been in nursing school for the past 2 years. Just the other day I took my final exam in order to graduate and I passed! I'm done with nursing school and graduation is in just a couple of weeks. I do still however have to take the state board exam so my studying isn't completely done with. I will keep you updated and let you know when I'm completely finished and on a hunt for a job.
I am so happy. This has taken up so much of my time the past 2 years and especially the past month. For the past month I have put everything on hold to do what I needed to pass this test. I thank everybody, my friends and family for your love and support that helped to get me through this. I have been cranky, emotional, stressed and everything else. I especially thank Miguel. He has kept me in line these past few days especially. He beleived in me and never gave up when many times I did. I spent many nights frustrated and crying and he put up with me through it all. Thanks Miguel. Making those two phone calls last night to Miguel and my parents telling them I passed was the greatest thing and coming home to Miguel waiting for me outside for a big hug made everything worth it.
Like I said, I'm not quite finished yet, but I have climbed the first big hill and I know I can make it over the next.

Happy 30th Birthday to ME!!
I know I am a little bit late at posting about this, but I guess better late than never. A little over a month ago I turned the big 3-0! I know, hard to believe! I had been too busy with school to really plan anything big so Miguel and I were just going to hang out for the day. We woke up, got some breakfast and then got ready and went to Park City for some lunch and of course outlet shopping. I probably could have stayed there all day. We left PC and headed down to Target where we got a new Wii game (Wii Resort, which I have yet to play). After that the plan was to go to the mall to do some more shopping. Obviously it was my birthday, there was no way Miguel would do so much shopping in one day. So we're on our way to the mall and Miguel gets a phone call and pulls over to the side of the road. To make a long story short I get blind folded with a plastic bag (not safe I know) and we drive in many circles back to our apartment. He walks me with my eyes closed to the clubhouse where all my friends and family are waiting...it was a SURPRISE party just for me!! Miguel did a great job at planning all of this. I must say that I did suspect a litte something in the days to come, but I didn't know that he would be going to this much trouble. My family was there, friends from CPK, and many other friends I hadn't seen for quite some time. I thank all of you that came, it really meant a lot!! I know Miguel tried to get ahold of as many people that he could so if he missed you, I apologize, I know the thought was there. Thanks again everyone and thanks to Miguel. I love you so very much!! Here are a few pictures.
